Function:
This gear fuel feed pump is a core component of engine low-pressure fuel supply system. Driven by camshaft of high-pressure fuel pump, it draws diesel from fuel tank and creates stable low pressure, delivering fuel to high-pressure pump. It ensures adequate fuel supply and prevents cavitation and premature wear of high-pressure pump. Built-in pressure relief valve keeps low-side fuel pressure stable.
Common Failures:
Wear of gear and pump end face leads to internal leakage and insufficient fuel pressure, causing hard starting and power loss. Aging seals result in diesel leakage. Stuck gear cuts off fuel supply and the engine cannot start.
