Function:
This gear fuel feed pump is a key component of engine low-pressure fuel supply system. Driven by high-pressure fuel pump, it draws diesel from fuel tank and builds stable low pressure, delivering fuel to high-pressure pump. It ensures sufficient fuel supply to avoid cavitation and premature wear of high pressure pump. Built-in pressure relief valve stabilizes fuel pressure of low-pressure circuit.
Common Failures:
Wear of gear and pump end face causes internal leakage and insufficient fuel pressure, resulting in hard starting and power loss. Aging seals lead to diesel leakage. Stuck gear will stop fuel supply and engine fails to start.
