Function:
This gear fuel feed pump is a key component of engine low-pressure fuel supply system. Driven by engine gear train, it draws diesel from fuel tank and builds stable low fuel pressure, then delivers fuel to high pressure fuel pump. It ensures sufficient fuel supply for high-pressure pump to avoid pump cavitation and premature wear. Built-in pressure relief valve keeps fuel pressure stable by recirculating excess fuel when pressure exceeds the limit.
Common Failures:
Wear of gear and pump end face will cause internal leakage and insufficient fuel supply pressure, resulting in hard starting and weak engine power. Aging seals lead to fuel leakage. Stuck gear will cut off fuel supply and cause engine no-start.
